News of Great Import

On January 5, 2006, in the Glasgow Necropolis, under the steady but approving gaze of a statue of John Knox, I made a proposal to my best friend Heather Ehli that we become married.

Heather thought this was a good idea, and instantly agreed.

This makes her my fiancée.

first!!!

CONGRATULATIONS Joel! I have never met this girl, but you speak so highly of her I have to assume she is a class act. Top drawer, to be sure.

Anyways I hope the Scots are treating you well and maybe the next time you are stateside we could get together. I'd like to meet this Heather.

For the record I will say that I've known both of these folks for many years now and I can't imagine a better match. God seems to know what He's doing. Now if only I'd apply that to myself...

Right now I feel like the depressed robot on "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."

..."no one will ever marry me..."

I agree with Ethan, cut that mop ya hippie...

Bryan, buck up! :-)

And yes, Heather and Senor Vole are a match made in purgatory! :-) They're perfect for each other... so weird... I was for sertain, that if they would ever meet, the Mayan calander would sease to work, and Armaggedon would be upon us...

...or all of our DNA would reconfigure and everyone would become oozing piles of goo...

Yay!!!!
For the record, a year before you started dating Nate and I tried to set you up. Heather may remember this, but I don't think you had any knowledge of it...
:) Really, the only match I've ever predicted! It's that obvious.

Wow... this is the most comments I've ever gotten! I'm tempted to give up posting, just so I can see this many comments every time I look at my blog... Not as if I post all that much anyway... Hmmm...

No, I guess I'll keep updating. But one of these days I might re-post this post, just 'cause I like all these amazing, nice, thoughtful comments! And I like the picture w/ Heather in it.

Congratulations, yall!! Mum just told me the news a few days ago, obviously as I heard it from her I haven't been keeping up with the blog...whoops. Anyway, I'll be there with bells on.
The Necropolis was my absolute favourite place in Glasgow, I'm such a huge fan of old graveyards. Did you go to the Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh? that one is held also in my high esteem.
